Since 2004 the annual Doom Shall Rise festival takes place at the Chapel, a former U.S. Army church in Göppingen, Germany.

Göppingen is located in the southwest of Germany, between Stuttgart and Ulm.

Stuttgart airport is about 40 kms away. There are frequent train connections from the airport to Stuttgart main station (Hauptbahnhof) and from there to Göppingen. It takes about 1 hour by train and the one-way train ticket costs about 12 Euros.

Other airports:

- Karlsruhe-Baden (about 2 1/2 hours by coach & train)
- Frankfurt International (about 3 hours by train)
- Frankfurt-Hahn (about 3-4 hours by coach & train)
- Munich (about 2 hours by train)

Bus connections (from many European cities to Stuttgart):  www.touring.de

Train connections: www.bahn.de

If your flight goes to Stuttgart or Karlsruhe-Baden airport and you’ll have to continue your trip to Göppingen by train you can use the Baden Württemberg Ticket which can be purchased at every train station automat. It costs 28 Euros and up to 5 people can travel with the same ticket.

Another option would be the Happy Weekend ticket (in German “Schönes Wochenende Ticket”). It costs 37 Euros for up to 5 people, but can also be used if your flight goes from Frankfurt or Munich. It’s only valid on Saturday and Sunday though.

Note for foreign visitors: If you’re using Bahn.de (for train connections), web-based route planners or GPS navigation please spell the town GOEPPINGEN instead of GOPPINGEN.

The street address of the Chapel is:

Karl-Ehmann-Strasse 29, 73033 Göppingen, Germany.
